We have PLENTY of members. We have at least two new members each day and some times up to five or six. The problem is that no one posts anything....

JG, those 2 to 6 new members every day are spambots. Thom and I regularly delete them.

I know most are spammers, I have been deleting them too, but right now we have 35 members. That's more than twice what we had on the old discussion group, and we don't have twice as many posts.... We actually have less.

Hey all-
what this forum needs is for the guys who visit it fairly often to throw something on here and generate some interest.  When I read the "To:" list on Matt's occasional NMMA related e-mail- I recognize many of the names on it.
I know there are some great modelers involved in this.

Even if you don't have anything particularly interesting to say on a given visit- posting gets people reading- talking and getting to feel that this is a place where they have pals- and need to check on and post to often.

10 guys throwing up something every day for a two or three weeks would light this off. Or at least its a theory-

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No! ....and it aint over now! So who is with me?" Grin Grin

Believe it or not I'm a new member (and I'm not a spammer!)

I've been getting back into things that really interest me after many years being out of many of my hobbies...

Just picked up an Airfix 1/76 M113 model figured I'd give it a shot and see if I can get into the hobby again...

Hello ab5000,

Welcome to the forum, we have a really good group of builders here. Please don't hesitate to ask questions and remember to post pics of your new model as you build it.

Cheers,
Thom

Welcome ab5000,
everyone takes at least one break from the hobby - but we always seem to be drawn back in.

The internet has been great for this hobby because it is easy to get new ideas reference material and encouragement.

How are you going to build the M113? Vietnam, Israeli Defense Force, present?

It's a M113 ACV so Vietnam era - very basic.. The tracks are all one piece.  I picked it cause I didn't think you could get much easier than painting that slab sided APC...

Gonna be iffy weather so might get some work done this weekend.

ab5000-
you scared me with the "its and ACAV- so Vietnam". I had to re-read your first post to make sure I hadn't missed that- hence making myself look like a dope! Smiley

Did you make any progress??
