Steve,

Cheesy Unless has one in his stash we haven't even ordered the kits yet, going to give the money to Matt at this Saturdays meeting.

Of course it is an out of OOB build (starts to get shakes).

Cheers,
Thom

Okay guys make sure you buy your kit in May or pick up your kit at the May meeting. That's when we kick things off!

Since I unfortunately missed the last meeting, were the kits handed out?

YUP! Matt didn't do a demo so you just missed a long funny conversation about a lot of things.  Thom I can work on that video stuff now that I am out of school. Cheers. Hope all is well. I need to learn FCE anyhow. Grin

We forgot to agree on a deadline. When do we want to have these done by?

I think we also need to post the rules of this group build and how we want to show progress.

Cheers,
Thom

Hey everyone!!  I actualy just finished building the KV-1 we are doing.  Paint is next. If you are participating in this build and haven't started yet I have a few warnings for you. First of all... READ THE DIRECTIONS!!!!  I, being the typical guy, skipped step 1 thinking it was just another list of big parts in the kit.  IT ISN'T!  This is where they tell you to make all of your own holes.  So after I cut all the mounting pins off the added armor piecesand proceeded to glue them in place (I have to add that these were pieces on top of the fenders on the hull) after of which when I tried to dry fit the fenders in place they didnt fit because the added armor was too low.  The added armor should be flush with the top of the hull, and I had to cut these back off, sand, and reapply.  This process was made harder due to the fact that I am now using the second best liquid next to coffee in the world, Tamiya Extra Thin Cement (can you drink that stuff?).  Just a heads up on that section of work. So on to my next fiasco...the fender supports, bottom line, make sure you have them going the right way for the right side of the tank/fender, I had to cut these off too, thank God I didn't break any.  The rear sprocket also is a matter of reading the directions CAREFULLY.  There is a little triangular piece (I don't know what it is, do I look like Zaloga?) If you are planning on assembling the tracks on the tank and then taking them off in one big assembly wheels and all leave this piece off and attach it later after you put the whole assembly back on because it fits right between the sprocket halves and will rip right off.  Other than those few things that I screwed up and of course blamed on the directions or lack thereof a pretty nice build.  This was also my first experience w/ link and length tracks, after the 2 hours it took me for the first side I breezed through the other in about 45 minutes, be prepared for quite a bit of cleanup though.  I will try to post some pics if I can, I am terrible w/ computers.

                          Peace Out Cub Scouts!!

Well first of all, how the Hell do I do that?  And second what if I want to do it here?  What if I like to write about it here?  Maybe it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to write about it here.  Did you ever once consider that?  What about my needs and feelings?  I just don't think you're trying at all in this relationship.    Grin

Just let me know how to do it and I will give in to "The Man".

May the Force be with you.

Warm and fuzzy, Mike you scare us into submission. The force is certainly not with me when you say warm and fuzzy. He He. Seriously, go back one page and select New Topic on the top right portion of the forum. I'll see if I can do one today to show you how it's done. Cheers. Warm and fuzzy! Mike that is forever going to be your nickname for me. You've done it to yourself man. He He Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

So I'm in my garage the other day gettin ready to prime the KV and I had a case of temporary "stone hands" and... SMASH!!!!  Well I only had to make some minor repairs and I look on the bright side, now I can paint the tracks separately.  So I have completed the primer and am waiting for a good day to actually paint.
